Day 2 Abu Simbel temple / Cairo

The whole complex was relocated after the construction of the High Dam in the 1960s. The huge astonishing temples of Abu Simble are now located at the Southernmost point in Egypt about 290 kilometers to the South of the charming city of Aswan. Ramses II, the most famous king and builder of ancient Egypt constructed the temples of Abu Simble in 1265 BC after a construction process that remained for 21 years. The complex consists of two marvelous temples. The first is the Temple of Ramses, the beloved of the god Amun and the second temple, the smaller one, is the Temple of the goddess Hathor. The complex of temples at Abu Simble amazes tourists who visit Egypt from all over the world. The larger temple at Abu Simble was dedicated to the three most dominant gods in Egypt in the 13th century BC, Amun, Ra, and Ptah.
